Region Six Alcohol & Drug Abuse

A non-profit corporation, founded in 1977, RESADA, Region Six Alcohol & Drug Abuse, Co. Alcohol and Drug Treatment Services, is owned by Baca, Bent, Crowley, Kiowa, Otero, and Prowers counties and is situated in southeast Colorado.

Licensed by the Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) of the Colorado Department of Health, RESADA employs counselors certified per OBH requirements and guidelines.

Our funding is obtained from the collection of client fees, donations from cities and counties in the service area, donations from private and public organizations, and individual donations and grants.

Partial funding is received through contractual arrangements for services per treatment episode with managed care agencies (MSO’s) within the state of Colorado.

Meals are prepared by staff and served cafeteria style. Clients are not permitted to bring any: food items, snacks, soda pop, bottled water, or soft drinks delivered or catered by or from any outside source (includes family).

FOR TREATMENT.*
We will require a note from your Dr. stating what items you are allergic to.

The Residential Treatment Program (RT) is 30 days in length. Clients must complete 30 days to receive a report of successful completion of the program. Agency policies do not allow anyone to be enrolled in RT that may be under the influence or in need of detoxification. Therefore, ALL clients are enrolled in the detox program for a two to five day observation period prior to enrollment in Residential Treatment. Total length of stay is 32 to 35 days.

Bring enough clothing for 7days (small suitcase). Personal care items such as soap, toothpaste/toothbrush, shampoo, comb/brush, two to three towels, two spiral notebooks, wooden pencils, clear barrel ballpoint pens, any RX medications or OTC medications (30-day supply). A pillow and blanket if you choose.

By state law, the client is responsible for payment of treatment costs and treatment related costs. There may be financial assistance available. Indigent clients may be assessed fees based on a sliding fee scale. Partial financial assistance may be obtained from service agencies in your area. Room and board costs are separate from treatment costs. Non-residents of Colorado are responsible for payment of 100 percent of treatment and related costs. All enrollees should be prepared to pay their share at admission. Admission may be denied if no payment is presented. Personal checks are NOT accepted. We accept cash, cashier’s checks, credit cards, or money orders. Any quoted fees are subject to change.

If you report to RESADA for the inpatient program consisting of 30 days of inpatient treatment and then you subsequently withdraw from the program for any reason NO REFUND will be issued for any reason.

If you chose to discharge yourself for whatever reason you will not receive a refund. Regardless of the amount that has been paid or the reason for your departure.

You expressly acknowledge that if you are discharged by the agency for any reason you will not be entitled to a refund.

No, unless ordered by the referring agency, and must meet a clinical need

Alcohol, illicit/illegal substances, weapons, shorts, tank tops, muscle shirts, halter tops, tube tops or any clothing that overly exposes the human body, tattoo materials, music instruments, radios, televisions, stereos, record players, tape recorders, VCR/VHS recorders/players/tapes, CD’s/CD players/recorders, DVD’s/DVD players/recorders, MP3 players, any communication devices such as cell phones, computers, pagers, lamps and electrical appliances, cameras. no outside food or drinks, expired medicaition.

Is RESADA a medical facility? No, RESADA is not a medical facility. We refer any medical issues to a licensed medical facility
Are all the treatment staff certified addiction counselors? Yes. All RESADA counselors are required to be certified by the State of Colorado as Certified Addiction Counselors. RESADA does hire counselor trainees. These trainees learn while on the job from certified RESADA counselors.
Is RESADA a lock down facility? No. All RESADA clients are free to leave at any time.
Does RESADA take clients from all over the State? Yes, RESADA clients come from all over the State of Colorado
Also, smoking cigarettes is allowed in our designated area, the client is responsible for bringing their own. Under no circumstance will any staff purchase these items.
